Artist Statement

As an artist I have always been inspired by the myriad forms and compositions; beautiful or bizarre, sometimes whimsical, that can be observed in the natural world. Drawing from this vast repertoire, I choose natural elements that intrigue me. Using them as a springboard; mingling and remixing; constructing or deconstructing, together with other materials organic, man made or found; I filter them  through the psychic membrane that connects me with the primeval past. Altering and reshaping; sometimes minimally, sometimes radically allows new imagined forms to evolve, telling their own stories. These stories reveal   deeper narratives that speak closer to the point where all things merge. In this process I seek to imbue  my work with a touch of primal energy, as an homage to  the  mysterious and profound unity underlying the infinite variety of the universe.
